If a sports injury, car accident, or sore muscles and joints are causing you sleepless nights and stressful days, it’s time to get help. We are talking about getting help from your body’s own potential to heal itself. While medication provides temporary relief, you often have to deal with side effects, only to find that the pain keeps coming back. It’s not like that with chiropractic services; the results are quick and lasting. Your chiropractor facilitates the healing power of your body to rejuvenate and reenergize sore or cramped muscles, painful joints, pinched nerves, a stiff neck, aching back, and so on. Any interference with your body’s nervous system that is keeping you from functioning normally, will be removed to help your body heal itself.

In acupuncture, solid, filiform acupuncture needles, ranging in size from 13-70 mm in length, are inserted into the skin at specific points. According to ancient Chinese medicine, this process of inserting needles is therapeutic, as it encourages healing, improves mood, increases energy, reduces or relieves pain, and improves function.

Acupuncture needles are left in place for 15-30 minutes, and patients often feel a dull, heavy or achy feeling, which indicates that the needle is correctly placed.

Our practitioner may manipulate the needles by lifting, twisting or rotating them in order to increase or decrease the flow of qi (“chee”)—life energy—through your body. This process is safe and virtually painless.

What is TPI?
TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. For over twenty years, TPI has been assessing and gathering data on all kinds of golfers, from Tour professionals to everyday golfers. Through this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. They have also determined that physical limitations in a player's body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.

TPI’s Philosophy
There are an infinite number of ways to swing a golf club. However, there is one most efficient way for each player to swing a club and it is based on what they can physically do.

TPI’s Movement Assessment
TPI believes: If you don’t assess, it's just a guess! That is why the movement assessment is where we start. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. A proper screen involves an assessment of current health, injury history, swing mechanics, biomechanics, physical fitness, and movement quality.

The TPI movement assessment is a simple test to quickly evaluate a player’s physical capabilities. The results of that assessment are used to determine how technical elements of the player’s swing could be related to what their body can or cannot do. Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include fitness training, physical therapy and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics or all of the above.

Who Is It For?
Anyone who plays golf or is thinking about starting. Whether you are a scratch golfer or you just bought your first set of clubs, you will find this assessment to be very useful and beneficial. It is not a “golf lesson” or “coaching session” but rather the focus is on the body and its function, or dysfunction, with regards to the movement of a golf swing.

If you want to see what all the hype around golf is and start a new hobby, get some more distance on your shots, or just want to play golf pain-free, this assessment is for you!

Orthotics

A foot orthotic supports, aligns, prevents or corrects mal-alignments and improves functions of the foot. Generally, orthotics fall into three categories: those that primarily attempt to change foot function, those that are primarily protective in nature and those that combine functional control and protection.

Chiropractic Brought Life Back to His Family!

When Dr. Kevin was exploring career paths in his early twenties, he met a chiropractor and wanted to experience chiropractic care. “I didn’t have any expectations as I thought chiropractic care was only for pain.” After his second adjustment, the digestive problems he’d had since age 3 cleared up. He was amazed!

Having witnessed his father struggle with low back pain and leg weakness as a child, he recommended his dad see this chiropractor. “He couldn’t play hockey or get out on the lake with us without barely being able to move the next day. There were days his legs couldn’t support him standing.” After a few months, the problems he had for over 20 years were gone. Low back pain was only the symptom; however, his low back was not the focus of care.

With patients today, Dr. Kevin understands the importance of looking at the whole person and getting to the cause, rather than only addressing the areas where symptoms are present.

Empowering Healthy Lives at Any Age

Dr. Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a focus in sports performance, exercise and health promotion. While completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, he learned the mechanisms of how chiropractic care improves sports performance, injury prevention, recovery, rehabilitation, as well as growth and development. This expanded his focus to family care, working with pregnancy, babies, children. Pregnancy care improves mobility and comfort for mom; chiropractic for babies and children promotes optimal growth, development and health outcomes. “No matter who I see as a patient, I want to empower them to become a better version of themselves.” This wealth of knowledge serves him well in practice today with an ability to care for patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Additional Qualifications:

• Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) • Pediatric Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). • Certified in the Webster Technique (specifically designed for pregnant patients) • Member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA)

Staying Active and Exploring

Dr. Kevin loves the outdoors. Whether exploring lakes and mountains or spending the day by the ocean, he loves being active and exploring our beautiful province.

Dr. Kevin believes that living a healthy, fulfilled life means being able to do what you love. He is committed to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals and looks forward to meeting you in the office!
